INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS

Our internship programs are for a 9-12 weeks course. Depending on the division assigned, you will attain exposure to the Investment Managing business, learning about Portfolio Management, Equity analysis, Database management, Client Relationship building and the due diligence process of investing.Below are our current available internship programs.

Our Investment Banking Internship Programs are quite demanding and surely beneficial to our selected candidates. The programs offer a great deal of insight in to security analysis, industry expertise, communication and relationship exposure, project management and the art of a deal (applying your experience at first hand).To offer an insight into our programs, we have put together a detailed presentation of your 12 week internship expectation at a glance.

Introduction: Week 1-3

During your first 3 weeks, the candidate will be introduced to their respective team. They will receive briefings on their programs and what to expect within the first week. This will allow them enough time to be updated on their role and the projects they will be working on, the programs and databases they will be utilizing throughout the course of their apprenticeship. The second week, the intern will be assigned a task that will serve as the thesis and backbone of their 12 week apprenticeship. Depending on the program, it could be industry related (Analysts, Researchers, or Business Admins), market related (Analyst in Fixed Income or Equities division) or division related (Project Manager). The intern is assigned a task in their second week in order to give them a head start on their program. During the third week, our candidates will be fully immersed in the research process.

Week 1

Interns will be learning about their day to day functions in their current role through circulated firm documents

Week 2

Interns will be given the time to dissect what they are learning in their role within the team and interact with their colleagues

Week 3

Interns will begin working with the team lead on being assigned their task/project 

Research/Database: Week  4-6

During this period the intern will be assigned a project, industry, or task related to their assigned division:

Analysts:

Will be engaging in industry analysis to obtain financial, market performance data for the construction of their portfolio. This will require the use of public markets databases such as the Security Exchange Commission (SEC website), Google and Yahoo finance, Economic indicators and Bloomberg.

Project Managers:

Will be assigned to respective divisions and will assemble a book of work to monitor tasks required to deliver. Will work closely with the analysts and portfolio manager to assign tasks and create project trackers to report on a weekly basis the status of the projects. The intern will be utilizing Microsoft Office programs extensively (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) to monitor team developments.

Marketing & Communications:

Will be assigned projects that will help track trends on social media platforms to help increase engagements between the firm and their community. Will also be assigned specific marketing projects that will require the use of Photoshop, Hootsuite, and PowerPoint to present certain marketing campaigns that are being developed.

Researcher and Reporters:

 

Will be assigned specific industries and economic indicators to monitor and research for reporting. Will be utilizing Excel to build database to analyze historical performances. Will need to keep track of events taking place on the assigned industry; e.g. Insurance Industry, will require following the Insurance industry journals for certain trends and publications to report findings.

Week 4

Interns will be discussing their interests with the team leads to better help select their task and industry assignment

Week 5

Interns will begin working on their assignment by engaging in rigorous research in their respectively assigned industries

Week 5 - 6

Interns will share updates and findings with team leads. They will also have the chance to engage in strategies in designing their portfolios, accounting for risk metrics and financial performance indicators

Analysis: Week 7-9

During this stage of the program, interns will become well acquainted with their projects and divisions. The focus will be on analysis and reporting of key findings in their assigned tasks/industries. Project managers will coordinate with analysts to track the progress of the project and assemble presentations to update the entire team. Analysts will assemble models to monitor and assist them in reporting key findings in their industries and in providing expert advice to portfolio managers for opportunities in the market by putting together their findings in a pitch deck to the portfolio manager.

Week 7

Interns will be compiling a database of companies within their industry to perform an analysis of historical financial performance and KRI 

Week 8-9

Interns will analyze industries to find investment opportunities in key markets

Presentation: Week 10-12

During week 10 of the internship, interns will have the opportunity to share their findings with senior members at the firm. Project managers will inform the final status of the project to the managers, noting key achievements and challenges encountered through the life span of the project. Analysts will have an opportunity to make recommendations to portfolio managers of key finding in their assigned industries and provide updates on the current state of the industry and the direction in which the industry is pivoting towards. Marketing and business administrative interns will have achieved key reports and content to be distributed on social media platforms, firm’s website; reports such as corporate functions, responsibilities, strategies and marketable content to boost client/peer engagement.

Week 10

Interns will present their findings and recommendations to their peers and portfolio managers for discussion

Week 11

Interns will receive feedback on their presentation and research from portfolio managers

Interns will have officially completed their task and projects
