Seeking current freshman/sophomore students enrolled in an undergraduate program with a strong interest in economics, investing, finance, and business development. An Internship at Ridgeway & Prospect provides current undergraduate students with the exposure to day-to-day activities in the investment industry. Interns will have full exposure to project developments by partaking on investment discussions, analysis, and database management. The Program is committed to finding students with a strong interest in investments, database management, and the financial industry and cultivating them into future industry leaders. Through our immersive, intensive, and inclusive 12-week program, we offer interns the opportunity to apply their current industry skill-set in a real world setting while mapping out their future through comprehensive workforce development services including professional development, work readiness, network building, and career planning. However, it does not stop there. We continue to offer career support for 12 months following the program based around educational advancement, job search, and job placement within your respective industry. Interns will be a part of a robust community of emerging professionals who each contribute uniquely to Ridgeway & Prospect. Responsibilities

- Lead the planning and implementation of projects. 
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget. 
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, tasks, resource requirements and goals. 
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines and documentation. 
- Coordinate internal and external resources. 
- Assemble, provide direction and support project team. 
- Manage project budget and resource allocation. 
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques. 
- Use appropriate techniques to manage changes in scope, schedule and costs. 
- Manage the relationship with all stakeholders. 
- Conduct project evaluation and assessment of results.

Responsibilities

As a Database manager, the intern will be responsible for scraping financial data, compiling database for their respectively assigned industry utilizing government database websites and reporting updates on the status of the database. Database Interns will be key source of support to the project managers and portfolio analysts. The intern will liaise with project managers to assist in the deliverance of key project tasks and providing support to portfolio managers in essential data for reporting and presenting to key stakeholders. Requirements

- Proven experience as Database Management or related background 
- A position in a small team working on high-priority publicly traded companies and initiatives that affect major business decisions, fund performance and relationships with investors. 
- Liaise across division, keeping contact with all other project manager functions and provide support to the Portfolio Management and Equity Research teams by assisting with data inputs, ratios and valuation metrics, as well as track status of current industry inputs and communicate with our project managers. 
- You will join a visionary team, whose team spirit and specific expertise guarantee an exciting working environment and growth opportunities. 
- Possess strong financial skills including, analytical, problem solving, quantitative and writing skills. You have the ability to think strategically and at the same time be creative in your work, which enables you to present information in a clear and concise manner.

-Assist with suggesting trending topic ideas on an as needed basis as well as other content as requested. 
- Work alongside the marketing team on a wide variety of projects from start to finish including but not limited to Copy Drafting, Create Content Calendar, Social Listening, Influencer Marketing, Graphic Design, Campaign Execution and Analytics. 
-Research and create jobs and tasks from scratch as directed by the Creative Director. 
-Document and maintain position processes to help ensure position continuity and for reference in the performance management process. 
- Open and read emails on a daily basis.

- Utilizes social media to engage with a community of fans/followers online 
- Coordinates online marketing and advertising campaigns 
- Collaborates with internal departments on projects and assignments 
- Demonstrates interest in social media and how media and communication strategies can continuously engage the online community

Requirements

-High School or equivalent experience. Holds or is currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related field from an accredited university. Minimum or 3.2 cumulative GPA required. 
- Previous social media experience preferred. 
- Must be available to work a minimum of 3 days per week. 
- Must have a deep understanding of existing and emerging channels. 
- Must have excellent business writing and organizational skills. 
- Graphic experience highly preferred but not required (Adobe Creative Suite). 
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic. 
- Must be eager to learn about corporate marketing as a whole. 
- Attention to accuracy and detail in processing information. 
- Experience using Microsoft Office products or equivalent software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred.

- Develop business plans to ensure that fixed income business runs optimally.

- Maintain and manage fixed income products effectively.

- Perform monitoring of fixed income performances.

- Provide assistance to senior investment strategist and fixed income portfolio managers as needed.

- Perform market and portfolio analysis to support fixed income strategies.

- Monitor and analyze the assets coming into the portfolio.

- Address customer problems and questions to generate business in the fixed income field and to support the growth of assets.

- Communicate with equity managers, performance analyst, research providers, broker dealers and vendors for portfolio management.

- Perform simulations and stress tests on proposed and existing portfolios.

- Analyze financial statements and develop investment thesis when required.

- Contribute to ongoing investment ideas and portfolio strategy discussions.

- Participate in business meetings to share recommendations and ideas for investment.

- Make recommendations to reduce or control risk, which may involve an insurance strategy

- Work with managers to calculate the risk associated with specific firm's exposure (market/credit/enterprise)

- Liaise with departmental stakeholders to explain key risk findings and trends 

- Forecast and monitor market trends

- Consider proposed business decisions

- Conduct research to assess the severity of risk

- Conduct statistical analysis to evaluate risk and use statistical software to monitor key risk indicators

- Review legal documents

- Present ideas via reports and presentations, outline findings and make recommendations for improvements

- Purchase insurance

- Analyse a portfolio's market position and running figures through complex modelling techniques to find value at risk (VAR) measurements

- Carry out quantitative analysis

- Use financial packages and software, including portfolio management software

- Study government legislation, which may affect a company, and advise on compliance
